Media Training Masterclasses by Past Preservers

The first masterclass, now entitled "Developing Media Skills 1: Media
Presentation Skills" will be held on the weekend of 10th to 12th September 2010

In light of feedback we have made some changes to the course syllabus and date.

We are pleased to announce that the cost of the course will be now be £600.00 with an early bird discount of £50 if paid in full by July 1st.

The first masterclass, now entitled "Developing Media Skills 1: Media
Presentation Skills" will be held on the weekend of 10th to 12th September 2010 at the award-winning Castle Green Hotel in Kendal, Cumbria.

In addition to the Past Preservers team of Nigel Hetherington and Miriam Bibby, the tutors for this course will be Fiona Armstrong, the broadcaster and journalist and Jim Mower, a producer of the popular programme Time Team.

The number of places will be limited with the emphasis on working closely to develop the skills of each individual student.

During this intensive training course, you will have the opportunity to:

- Strengthen your presentation skills under the guidance and expertise of our professional team

• Gain insight, knowledge and practice of the filming process

• Practice with fellow students prior to creating your showreel

• Ask questions and make comments in a supportive and relaxed learning environment

• Create a professional showreel produced by an experienced television crew

By the end of the course, in addition to having your own showreel, you will have extended your presentation skills and confidence, have experience both in front of the camera and behind it and have gained invaluable insights into the reality of working in television.

Course fee includes: all tuition costs, two nights accommodation with breakfast at the Castle Green Hotel, morning and afternoon coffee and tea, buffet lunches on both Saturday and Sunday, and use of the excellent leisure facilities at the hotel.

The Castle Green Hotel is only 5 minutes away by taxi from Oxenholme train station, more details about the hotel can be found @http://www.castlegreen.co.uk/
