Northwest Archaeological Associates, Inc is currently seeking to expand our staff. We are looking for highly motivated individuals with experience in cultural resources studies and project management. Responsibilities include managing multiple projects; supervising background research, survey and excavation field work and laboratory analysis, and producing quality reports.
Minimum qualifications are an M.A. in archaeology/anthropology, with 2-3 years of field experience. Experience in the western United States and with transportation-related projects is highly desirable. Familiarity with federal heritage laws and experience with completing Section 106 assessment studies is very important. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to complete a job in a timely and efficient manner are extremely important. Demonstrated experience in directing field crews and producing quality reports. Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills are also essential, a sense of humor a must.
Northwest Archaeological Associates (NWAA) is a consulting company specializing in professional cultural resource management services for private clients and government agencies throughout the Pacific Northwest. What Lies Beneath? Native American Tribes of the Boise, Idaho Archaeological Record And a Site in the Boise Foothills Tests have confirmed the dates and the fact that the artifacts, found in the Boise foothills near the Table Rock plateau, came from the same source of obsidian as the Squaw/Timber Butte location, east of Payette and North from Boise. This Squaw/Timber Butte location is known as a major prehistoric source of obsidian glass in eastern Idaho prehistory. ( A re-cap of the original report and research below.)
