Duties:
• Archaeologists conduct field research in support of the environmental projects at EDAW. Archaeologists conduct historical archaeology research, process and analyze artifactual remains, and summarize findings for technical reports. More senior level archaeologists supervise field staff on archaeological and cultural resource projects.
• Other duties may be assigned; this document is not intended to be an exhaustive list of duties and responsibilities.
• There are two types of entry level positions within the Archaeologist job family, entry level Archaeologists as well as Archaeological Technicians.
• Technicians generally assist more senior level Archaeologists on field research, and are often at a field site. He/she will be a strong team player working with more experienced project managers and senior level staff, and will possess excellent communication skills.
Skill Requirements:
• Familiarity with applicable state and federal regulations, including Native American Graves Repatriation Act and the Native American Religious Freedom Act.
• Strong writing and oral communication skills.
• Computer proficiency and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

What Lies Beneath? Native American Tribes of the Boise, Idaho Archaeological Record And a Site in the Boise Foothills Tests have confirmed the dates and the fact that the artifacts, found in the Boise foothills near the Table Rock plateau, came from the same source of obsidian as the Squaw/Timber Butte location, east of Payette and North from Boise. This Squaw/Timber Butte location is known as a major prehistoric source of obsidian glass in eastern Idaho prehistory. ( A re-cap of the original report and research below.)
