SWCA is actively seeking a Project Manager for the cultural resources program in our Denver, Colorado office. The ideal candidate will undertake cultural resource management projects in Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Utah, New Mexico, Nebraska, Kansas, and the Dakotas and expand SWCAs professional reputation in archaeological, historical, and ethnographic consulting and research. This is a regular full-time salaried position. Salary will be based on individual qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities:
Manage budgets, prepare proposals, reports, and other technical documents, monitor field procedures and contribute to Research Designs, Treatment Plans, and other technical documents;
Oversee and/or perform all aspects of field research, data collection, inventory, analyses, and report production;
Assist senior staff with business development and marketing efforts;
Establish project procedures and budgetary restraints, and follow those outlined by other staff, to assure that projects are concluded within budget and on time;
Manage the financial performance of individual projects and effectively coordinate with clients and staff;
Supervise, direct, and instruct field and lab personnel;
Take initiative, resolve problems, and implement improved procedures to assure tasks are completed in an effective manner;
Work closely with SWCAs other managers and directors in both natural and cultural resources throughout the company to promote SWCAs business interests in adherence to its mission, vision, and values (see www.swca.com for more information).
Qualifications:
Graduate degree in archaeology, anthropology or related field;
At least five (5) years supervisory and fieldwork experience;
Ability to be listed on federal and state cultural resource permits;
Experience with scheduling and budgeting of projects related to cultural resources;
Ability to coordinate personnel and other resources within budgetary restraints;
Exceptional technical writing skills and a record of completing technical reports in a timely fashion;
Ability to manage multiple projects successfully;
Ability to work independently as well as supervise small or large field crews;
Adept at working with a variety of colleagues, clients, and agency representatives;
A commitment to fiscal and scheduling responsibilities to projects of all sizes and scopes;
Demonstrated experience in the Western United States, including Colorado and Wyoming.
