A new program for the History Channel is looking for an expert host/hosts. The show’s focus is on modern North American history taking viewers across the continent to explore modern history in an exciting new way. The position requires broad knowledge in a wide variety of areas with a general focus on North America – notably post colonial North American artifacts – however all submissions are welcome. This is a lead hosting position so applicants should be comfortable on camera and should have a passion for storytelling. Pairs and teams are welcome to apply together.
Applicants are encouraged to submit a short video of themselves interacting with a "civilian" (someone with little or no knowledge of archaeology. (around 2 minutes). This is something that will happen on a regular basis on the show. It can be as simple walking them through a dig or talking about a specific (and arbitrary) artifact/topic. Informal is great, as the show itself will not be too formal. The idea here is primarily to get a sense of your presence/energy on camera. So have fun with it!
The video can be submitted however you choose – preferred methods - emailed, or using a public or private Youtube video (which can only be seen by the recipient).
