Job Description

Metcalf Archaeological Consultants, Inc., an employee-owned provider of heritage management consulting services, solicits applications for an experienced GIS Specialist for our current 2010 field season. The qualified candidate must have sufficient experience using GIS and related software, hardware and applications to create maps and data relational maps for use in the field and office. These products will often times be included in professional reports. This position is a hourly project-specific position. Additional responsibilities may include archaeological fieldwork on various projects. Project locations may be in Colorado, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, Wyoming or adjacent states and include all phases of archaeological work (i.e., survey, testing, and data recovery). Projects may require extended field time, typically on a 9 days on, 5 days off schedule, although schedules will vary from project to project. Camping may be required. Single rooms are provided for motel stays, although on rare occasions double occupancy may be required. Per Diem (lodging excluded) is typically $39. Lodging is paid directly by the company. MAC also offers a variety of AFLAC insurance policies to our temporary employees that can be taken with you when your employment ends.
