Job Description

Northwest Archaeological Associates, Inc is currently seeking an historical archaeologist. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with experience in cultural resources studies and project management. Responsibilities include managing multiple projects; supervising background research, survey and excavation field work and laboratory analysis, and producing high quality technical reports.
Minimum qualifications are an M.A. in archaeology/anthropology, with 2 years of supervisory field experience. Experience in western United States and with transportation-related projects is highly desirable. We are seeking someone with experience in all phases of archaeological investigation at historical sites including surveys, monitoring, testing, and data recovery as well as artifact analysis and site interpretation. The ideal candidate is familiar with federal heritage laws and experienced in completing Section 106 assessments. The candidate should possess strong organizational skills, be detail oriented, familiar with contemporary research issues, and be able to take initiative, solve problems and complete a job in a timely and efficient manner. The candidate should demonstrate strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills and above all exhibit a sense of humor.
Northwest Archaeological Associates (NWAA) specializes in professional cultural resource management services for private clients and government agencies throughout the Pacific Northwest. We are based in Seattle with a geographic focus on Washington, Oregon, Idaho and western Montana.
This is a full time position with salary dependent on experience. Benefits include health, vision, and dental insurance, retirement plan, paid vacation and holidays.
