Southeastern Archaeological Research, Inc. (SEARCH) is seeking an Architectural Historian to support long-term general service contracts with the Florida Department of Transportation, other state DOTs, and the Department of Defense. Applicants should have: a Masters Degree in historic preservation, architectural history, public history, or related fields; five years experience as an Architectural Historian; superior technical writing ability; demonstrated contract and client management skills; complete understanding and experience with Section 4(f) of the Department of Transportation (DOT) Act of 1966 and the NHPA; and two years experience as a Principal Investigator supervising all aspects of projects, including background research, coordinating archaeological work, map production, report production, and schedule and budget management. Applicants must meet the Secretary of Interior’s Standards and Guidelines for Archaeology and Historic Preservation.
The position will be based out of SEARCH’s Florida office in Newberry (Gainesville) or Jacksonville.
