Job Description

SWCA Environmental Consultants is an employee-owned company of environmental professionals who specialize in natural and cultural resource management, environmental planning, and regulatory compliance.

We are seeking a Cultural Resources Project Manager for our Denver office located in Broomfield, Colorado. The selected candidate will assist in the continuing development of SWCA’s cultural resource program and expand SWCA’s professional reputation in cultural resources consulting. This is a regular, full-time, salaried position. Salary will be based on individual qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities:
• Manage all aspects of projects, including development of staffing plans, fieldwork with travel, research, and report writing and review;
• Assist in overall business development, marketing, and developing new client relationships;
• Conduct and oversee field research, including inventory, data collection, monitoring, and analysis;
• Coordinate with other staff to schedule personnel, vehicles, and other resources for projects;
• Supervise, direct, and instruct personnel in the field and in the office;
• Assist with training and mentoring junior staff in Cultural Resource Management compliance;
• Develop and manage project budgets effectively and coordinate productively with clients;
• Prepare proposals, reports, and other technical documents, monitor field procedures, and contribute to research designs;
• Take initiative, resolve problems, and create improved procedures to assure tasks are completed in the most effective manner, and;
• Work closely with SWCA’s managers and directors throughout the company for project work, scheduling, and promoting professional credibility.

Qualifications:
• M.A. or M.S. degree or higher in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related field strongly preferred.
• A minimum of three years experience in supervisory fieldwork and report completion is required.
• Ability to be listed on the Register of Professional Archaeologists (RPA) and to be listed on SWCA permits preferred.
• Experience in scheduling and budgeting of projects related to cultural resources.
• Excellent technical writing skills with a record of completing technical reports in a timely fashion.
• Experience preparing cultural resources NEPA documentation a plus.
• Ability to work independently as well as supervise small or large field crews.
• Ability to work with a variety of colleagues, clients, and agency representatives required.
• A commitment to quality and willingness to assume fiscal and scheduling responsibilities to projects of all sizes and scopes required.
