Job Description

Pacific Legacy, Inc., a Cultural Resources Management firm is seeking a Geoarchaeologist to join our staff. The desired candidate’s specialty must be in geoarchaeology or geomorphology as it relates to late Pleistocene and Holocene deposits, with an emphasis on the potential for buried archaeological sites and the processes that have affected them. Desirable candidates must also have experience directing field crews, supervising all aspects of analysis and report writing, and exhibit a strong interest in research. The selected candidate must work from one of Pacific Legacy’s office locations.

Candidates must have a Master’s degree or higher in Anthropology/Archaeology or related field.

Job Duties:
• Geoarchaeological/geomorphological analysis
• Fieldwork (as Senior Supervisor)
• Professional report writing skills
• Working knowledge of historic preservation laws (e.g. NHPA Section 106).

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate meets the following characteristics:
• Holds a graduate degree in anthropology or archaeology with an emphasis in geoarchaeology from a recognized graduate program in archaeological geology;
• Positive, motivated and detail-oriented;
• Experienced in western North American archaeology;
• Capable of producing high quality reports in a timely manner.
