Kautz Environmental Consultants, Inc., (KEC) of Reno, Nevada, is currently accepting applications for a Principal Investigator-level archaeologist. This is a full-time, salaried position with a benefits package including health and life insurance, company holidays, paid-time-off, and inclusion in the company’s profit-sharing program. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
The Principal Investigator will be expected to:
• Participate in all aspects of project development, including budgeting, scheduling, communication, and report writing.
• Coordinate and oversee field research, including inventory, data collection, monitoring, and analysis
• Supervise, instruct, and direct personnel in the field and office
• Develop and effectively manage budgets and schedules
• Coordinate with agency personnel and clients
• Take initiative, resolve problems, and participate in business development as a positive member of the KEC community
Qualifications:
Qualified candidates must be eligible to obtain a permit in the State of Nevada through the Bureau of Land Management at the level of a principal investigator. Three years of archaeological experience in the Great Basin is required.
M.S. or M.A. in Anthropology or Archaeology, or a related field, is strongly preferred. Demonstrated prior management experience is strongly preferred.
Selected candidate will be team-oriented, while able to work independently, and willing to assume fiscal and scheduling responsibilities for projects of all sizes and scopes. Fieldwork and travel are not significant components of this job.
