R. Christopher Goodwin & Associates, Inc. has an immediate opening for an Historic Analyst/ Laboratory Supervisor in our Frederick, Maryland office. The successful candidate will possess an advanced degree in anthropology or archeology, have a minimum of three years of experience working with archeological collections in a CRM context, and have a working knowledge of databases and spreadsheets. Background in identification and classification of North American historic material culture is required, and familiarity with related current research would be helpful. Because this position includes supervisory responsibilities, demonstrable organizational and supervisory skills are desirable.
This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits including medical and dental insurance, 401k plan, and flexible leave. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. EOE.

What Lies Beneath? Native American Tribes of the Boise, Idaho Archaeological Record And a Site in the Boise Foothills Tests have confirmed the dates and the fact that the artifacts, found in the Boise foothills near the Table Rock plateau, came from the same source of obsidian as the Squaw/Timber Butte location, east of Payette and North from Boise. This Squaw/Timber Butte location is known as a major prehistoric source of obsidian glass in eastern Idaho prehistory. ( A re-cap of the original report and research below.)
