The site, which was ripped up when workers excavated for a new water line for the school, provided the first evidence that prehistoric people who were part of the Folsom culture lived in the Albuquerque area some 10,000 years ago. The new school was designed to leave the site, known as Boca Negra Wash, undisturbed. But the plan did not take account of the need for the water line to cross adjacent land. "
