Senate committee passes bill to create Ice Age Floods Trail

The Senate Energy Committee has passed legislation sponsored by Sen. Maria Cantwell of Washington to create and Ice Age Floods National Geologic Trail through Montana, Idaho, Washington and Oregon.

U.S. Rep. Doc Hastings of Washington has introduced a similar bill in the House.
It would create a string of interpretive centers and exhibits that would be operated by the Park Service.
The trail would be a tourist attraction and tell the story of prehistoric floods that shaped the geology of eastern Washington. "
